Episode 9: Dragon’s Roar
Haruto and Shunpei watch over Hiroki until the Phantom case is solved. However, with Phoenix still on the loose, Haruto finds himself outmatched until he discovers how to tap into the power of the Phantom within him, unleashing a new form.

Episode 8: A New Magic Stone
After a mysterious white Garuda delivers a new Magic Ring, Wajima works to get it set in a new ring. Meanwhile, Medusa sends out Ghouls to attack a young boy who is suspected of being a Gate as Haruto finds himself facing Phoenix.
We’re going to try a slightly more rapid release schedule this month. Originally, I was going to do one episode a day for the month of June, but in order to release the two-part arcs at the same time, we’re gonna do two episodes together every other day. If I can keep to this schedule, we’ll get a good way into Wizard by the end of the month, at which point I’ll be taking a short vacation before the next Ghost box releases. Dub episodes will continue to release on Sunday or Monday as usual.

Dub Notes: This episode holds the new record for least number of cuts, clocking in at only 18 seconds shorter than the BD version. Only one scene was heavily shortened, with the rest being small action cuts. The preview eliminates a donut shop scene and replaces it with a repeat of two shots from a few moments earlier in the preview.
Episode 6: For a Beautiful Flower
Shunpei, the donut shop worker, and Wajima all fall for a woman selling various items, but she sticks close to Haruto, particularly when a Phantom appears to be chasing after her.

Dub notes: This episode is approximately 56 seconds shorter than the original episode. The major bulk of the scenes cut should be no surprise to anyone at this point, being those set at the donut shop at the beginning of the episode. There are several other minor cuts elsewhere, as well as one shot cut from the preview and replaced with a duplicate of a shot from several seconds earlier.
Kamen Rider Wizard Dub Encodes
UPDATE 5/22: So, change of plans on how we’re gonna do the Wizard dubs. Due to the variety of cuts they are making to the episodes and the fact that we have no idea if it’ll continue being cut like that, rather than trying to edit the audio to sync up to the subbed encodes, we’re going to switch to doing dedicated dub encodes. The time it takes to edit the episodes down to match the dub is actually less than it was taking me to edit the audio, so other than having to do two separate encodes instead of a dual audio encode, which means more hard drive space taken up, it shouldn’t be any more difficult to do these. If the episodes start to get their full runtime and can sync to the BDs later without editing the audio, we’ll look at switching back to the patches, but for now, this is going to be the release method moving forward.
For now, we’re going to release these in 720p only, although if there is demand for 1080p versions, we’ll do them. Until the dub episodes are done, we’re probably going to just keep these on Mega-only and release them via batch torrent when the series is done airing. We’ll also go back and re-do Episode 1 with the cuts in the next few days as well, just so that everything is consistent.

ORIGINAL POST: Like Fourze before it, the Okto network in Sinagpore is now airing Wizard and through their Toggle Catch-Up service, we’re obtaining the dub audio. Unlike Fourze, where the broadcast was far ahead of our encodes, we’re ahead of these, although only by a bit. Rather than make Wizard take another year to complete by waiting for the dub episodes to air, we’re going to release patches for the episodes as they air.
The intention is to release the dub patches every Sunday, and they’ll be added to their associated episode posts and linked on Twitter. Notes for the dub, if any, will be included in each post update.

Episode 5: The Final Competition
Haruto must find a way to defeat Cat Sidhe before he converts Takagi while also helping Rinko and Shunpei to understand the truth of Koyomi’s origins.

Dub Notes: This is the least edited episode yet, clocking in at only 24 seconds shorter than the BD counterpart. Most of the cuts here are once again donut shop scenes (starting to sense a pattern…), including some rough jumps during conversations. Episode 3: Transform! The Live Broadcast
Shunpei decides to go on live television to show off his burgeoning magical powers while Haruto tries to deal with both the young man and Hellhound’s attempts to attack him now that it is clear Shunpei is a Gate.

Dub notes: This episode is 47 seconds shorter than the BD version, with the majority of the cuts made to the action scenes in the 2nd half of the episode. There are also two editing oddities to note. First, in the opening recap, a shot of the donut shop has been replaced by a scene of Haruto about to transform from later in this episode. Second, in the preview for Episode 4, the shot of Koyomi and Medusa is repeated to account for a shot that was removed a few moments earlier.

While trying to battle the Hellhound Phantom, Haruto is accosted by Nara Shunpei, who wants to be a wizard just like him.

Showtime! While I wasn’t going to start this until the weekend, I finished the first episode and since it stands alone for the most part, I decided to release it a little sooner. This marks where the “legacy” shows switched to 1080p filming, so like Drive and Ghost, we’ll have 1080p and 720p encodes with Over-Time’s subs. Enjoy!
