Tensou Sentai Goseiger – Epic on the Movie 3D

The Goseigers try to help a mysterious woman named Racile save the Earth from Warstar’s surviving members as they attempt to obtain the Horn of Ragnarok, a doomsday weapon that would decimate Earth.

Here’s another movie to join both our small 3D movie collection and equally small Super Sentai release collection, and the first one that belongs to an actual Sentai team! To be honest, I haven’t watched a whole lot of Goseiger outside of the Shinkenger and Gokaiger teamup movies and this, but I enjoyed it well enough not having watched the series itself. According to MFC (whose subs we are using here with a few minor tweaks to suit personal preferences), this movie best works slotted in between Episodes 22 and 23, which is backed up by RangerWiki as well. As with W Forever 3D, this is a 1080p release and there are two sub tracks here, so check out that post if you need more information on the differences and enjoy the movie!

So, here’s a fun bonus release for you if you have a 3D display! Thanks to evanmisha, who provided me with the 3D double feature BD (which also included the 3D Goseiger movie, which I may encode as well), we’ve now got the 3D version of A to Z.

 

Some things to note for this release: Because there are a ton of different 3D encoding options out there, I’ve tried to stick to what seemed to be the most common standards. As such, this is a half-resolution side-by-side encode, and in order to try and retain a little extra detail, I’ve kept it at 1080p rather than 720p like the rest of W. This caused the file size to get somewhat large, but I think it was worth it.

 

I’ve included two subtitle tracks, one “dual stream” that doubles the subs so that they are merged together when displayed, and a “single stream” standard track in case your player renders the subs differently. In most cases, the dual stream subs will be what you want to use. Playback has been tested with MPC-HC’s latest release, so I can’t speak of how it will play back in other players.

Episode 1: Pain is Power

As Super Sentai fanboy Akagi Nobuo, age 29, is hard at work in Akihabara, a woman named Hiroyo Hakase appears before him and asks him to “become Akiba Red!”

So, we’re adding another show to the “upgrade to BD” list, and this time, it’s a Sentai! …sort of. These releases will be sporadic, maybe one a week or so. Right now, I only have the BD ISOs for Season 1, but I’d like to do Season 2 as well if I can get the BDs.

 

We are, as usual, using the Over-Time subs, though we’ve made a few tweaks and additions. Unlike most of their shows, Toei offered up Akibaranger with subtitles on YouTube to East Asian countries, so using some of the translation notes left over in the O-T sub files, I’ve made a few translation revisions, as well as adding sign translations where possible. I’ve also added romanji lines for the OP and ED songs. Lastly,  I’m also republishing the Episode Notes originally posted by O-T, with any new stuff added in. Those will be linked below.

Quick note here: I’ve revised the names of two of the Greeds (Mezool and Kazari) to match the official spelling as seen on various pieces of merchandise like the Figuarts.
