Complete Series Batch

Listen to the sound of the Hibiki batch as it arrives at last and with bonus material in tow!

 

This batch contains Episodes 1-48 in 720p in either 30 or 60 FPS, as well as the following bonus material in 480p, also in 30 or 60 FPS:

  • NCOP1 Versions 1-4
  • NCOP 2
  • NCED Versions 1-5
  • Hyper Battle Video

The 720p upscale of the Hyper Battle Video and the two cuts of the movies will remain as individual standalone torrents.

 

Several v2 patches have been made for minor fixes. The v2s are already included in the batch, and patch packs for each framerate version are available below. Fixes include:

  • Timing corrections for signs (Episode 7 & 38)
  • Spelling corrections (Episode 33 & 34)

Episode 40 – 2017: Grand Climax!

Temporarily obtaining the Den-O Watch, Sougo holds the power of Grand Zi-O in his hand for only a moment before Yuuto interferes to protect the future from the tyranny of Oma Zi-O. Needing to stop Another Den-O’s rampage and the Mole Imagin, but without the DenLiner to travel back in time, Momotaros enlists the help of Geiz to travel back to 2017…

Like the previous episode, some lines have had minor tweaks to sync up with the Den-O BD encodes. There is also a revised track that removes the Gaim call during Grand Zi-O’s transformation sounds, in line with earlier episodes that removed the chant to match the Gaim subs.

Here’s a standalone release of the Hibiki Hyper Battle Video since the batch has been slightly delayed by some encoding issues for an extra. Included here is the original SD version as presented on the BDs as well as an upscaled version I’ve created using Topaz Labs’ Gigapixel AI upscaling software beta. I think the results are pretty good, so give it a look if you’re interested and feel free to give me feedback on what you think of it. Enjoy!

Kamen Rider Kiva Wrap Up

Well, we’ve taken a bite out of another piece of the Heisei Rider back catalog as Kiva reaches the finish! That was a bit of a sprint at the end there but you can thank a very slow week at my day job for that.

 

Massive thanks to Railler Subs and Earthly for their help with the subs and to the uploader on ADC that posted the Kiva BDs shortly before the site died!

 

I’ve often heard that Kiva is a divisive series and if I’m being honest, I’m not sure why. The dual timeframes was a choice I was surprised by when Rider had just come off of Den-O’s time travel, but I thought the perspective of the father and son was an interesting one. I suppose what we learned from the 2008 scenes tended to spoil some of the outcome of the 1986 story, but I still found it to be fairly interesting despite that.

 

Surprising no one, a batch is planned, and I’m hoping to get it done next week along with the Akibaranger Season 2 and Hibiki batches. If that doesn’t happen, look for it right after Zi-O Box 4 is completed in December. We’ll also be getting the DDLs caught up for the shows that are missing them.

 

As mentioned when Hibiki wrapped up, we’ll be jumping backward to Kabuto next, but as Earthly will be assisting with some TLC on the subs before release and I need to encode the raws, I will not be starting Kabuto until January just like Go-Busters. This is largely because I have the files for the first box for Ryusoulger arriving in my hands shortly along with Zi-O Box 4 releasing in just a few weeks. I also have my annual January vacation scheduled from the 8th to the 12th, but it’s possible that Kabuto will kick off around New Years if things are ready. In any case, be ready to Clock Up in January!

Last Episode – Finale: The Inheritors of Kiva

With Wataru as the self-proclaimed King of the Fangires, Taiga confronts him and claims to have killed Maya. The brothers begin to fight, but Bishop appears with his army of Fangires, so the two switch targets, with the Arms Monsters arriving to back them up. Nago, with the help of Megumi, engages Bishop at the same time, struggling with his damaged eyesight, but with Megumi’s help, he triumphs. But in defeat, he succeeds in reviving the King, forcing the brothers to team up and fight the Bat Fangire just as Wataru and Otoya did 22 years earlier. The fate of humanity and the Fangires is about to be decided!

Episode 47 – Break the Chain: Obey Me!

Taiga and Wataru resume their fight after eliminating Bishop’s revived Fangires. With the embracing of his Fangire side, Wataru defeats Taiga and tells his brother he refuses to help him. While Bishop’s plans to revive the previous King continue on, Taiga visits Maya after she refuses to grant him the power of Dark Kiva, he attacks her and obtains Kivat-bat the 2nd. Meanwhile, Nago plans to resign due to his injury, but Megumi demands he continues to fight, with her acting as his eyes.

Kamen Rider Kiva Episode 46

Episode 46 – Full Stop: Goodbye, Otoya

Wataru battles the Bat Fangire after his father is injured, but he’s no match for the incredible power wielded by the King. Enraged, the injured Otoya switches to IXA, but the weaker prototype is easily dispatched by the King, as the IXA armor shatters. Despite knowing that using Dark Kiva again will mean his demise, Otoya transforms and the two Kivas stand side by side and finally destroy the King. Otoya begins to die but puts on a brave facade as his son fades away, returning to the future he came from. Back in the future, Wataru exudes new confidence while Nago fights Bishop but is severely injured in the process…
