Complete First Season Batch – 2019 New Encode Edition

You’re not in the Delusion World and your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you because Akibraranger is back with a new batch for Season 1!

 

This is a new encode using the new encoding profile we use for… well, pretty much everything for the last few years, including the Akibaranger Season 2 encodes that will start right after this. The original encodes were done using the profile we used during Kamen Rider OOO and many people were unhappy with the file sizes for a 720p encode. While I wasn’t particularly bothered and felt the encodes looked better in static screencaps, in motion, the new encodes look great and episodes have dropped by several hundred MB per episode, so overall, I think it was worth redoing.

 

There are a few other minor changes, including removal of the sponsor bump after the opening, and some minor subtitle tweaks to sync up with some translations made after these were released before. There are no patches available for this due to the all-new encodes, so this batch is replacing the original one and the files have been tagged with [2019] in the filenames to indicate which is which. Enjoy!

Chomping at the heels of the Lupinranger VS Patranger batch, it’s the Kyoryuger batch!

 

This batch contains in either 1080p or 720p:

  • Episodes 1-48
  • Bonus Episode 33.5
  • NCOPs for Episodes 1, 11, 18, 25, 35, 39, 47, and 48
  • NCEDs for Episodes 1, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 48

There are several v2 patches for some minor fixes as well. These are linked in a patch back below. The fixes are:

  • Episodes 2, 3, and 4 – Fix Amy’s name (was Ami)
  • Episodes 8 and 19 – Fix Yuuko’s name (was Yuko)
  • Episodes 2 and 18 – Fix title of the following episode in preview

 

Also, please note that while 33.5 is included in this batch, the “Special Edition” custom cuts I did are not as this is only for the proper versions. The Special Edition packs can be found HERE.

The end of July is here and so it’s time for the Lupinranger VS Patranger batch!

 

This batch contains in either 1080p or 720p:

  • Episodes 1-51
  • NCOPs Versions 1-5
  • NCED Episode 51 Ver.

 

The NCOPs don’t have a list of which episode they made their debut in so I’ve just labeled them Ver. 1-5. There did not end up being any v2s as originally thought there would be, so these files are the same as the individual episodes. Enjoy!

Well, after all this time, we’re finally done with… wait, hang on…

 

OK, joking aside, we’re technically done with another series, although it’s a miniseries, but we’re done all the same! Big thanks as always go out to Howling_Snail for the BD and to Over-Time for the subs!

 

This was a fun miniseries and I was happy to see both Yamato and Marvelous return as they are easily among my favorite Super Sentai Reds. For a 4-episode miniseries, the Strongest Battle was a fun diversion and while the other dinosaur Sentai teams were missed, the Zyuranger and MMPR references were great.

 

Unlike usual, the batch for this is already out because there was no good reason not to release 4 episodes straight to a batch. There is a director’s cut version that cuts the series into a movie, and while I have a version of that script with the new lines timed out thanks to LegendaryLass at PocketUniverse, I haven’t yet gotten anyone to assist with the translation. If anyone is interested, drop me a line and we’ll get that released separately in the future.

 

Other than that, we have Akibaranger Season 1’s re-release coming up in a week and a half or two followed by the kick-off for Akibaranger Season 2, and the batches for LuPat and Kyoryuger should be out next weekend. Otherwise, we’ll have a bit of a longer wait than usual before the next Sentai series as Ryusoulger is being reduced to three BD boxes from the usual four, but Box 1 will contain 4 extra episodes as a result. I actually haven’t confirmed if Howling_Snail plans to get those discs, so while I can’t fully confirm it yet, from my end of things, I’m definitely game to do it, so if it does indeed go through, look for that to start in November!

Once every 500 years, it is said that a universe-spanning paranormal phenomenon called the “Moebius Connect” will occur during the turning point of an era, and indeed the Heisei Era is coming to an end. But are the heroes being used for a more nefarious purpose? And just who is the mysterious armored knight that demands to fight the strongest among the heroes?!

Thief Sentai Lupinranger VS Police Sentai Patranger Wrap Up

The dials have been spun and the triggers pulled as we come to the end of another Super Sentai for the second time in a month! As always, the usual shoutouts are in order to Over-Time for the subs and to Howling_Snail for the BD sources!

 

For a franchise that seems to be throwing just about anything they can at the wall to see what sticks, doing two opposing teams like this was an interesting experiment. Whether or not it was a success is another story, but I will say it defied my expectations by never actually integrating the teams to the very end.

 

This will probably be just about the end of our involvement with LuPat, although I do have the BD for the movie, and there is a Kyuranger teamup coming out in the future, so should a need/opportunity arise to do my own versions, I’ll do them.

 

Batch-wise, I’ll be addressing this when I return from Anime Expo and will likely release it alongside the Kyoryuger batch. Like that batch, I have some extras that need to be encoded, so it won’t be immediately after I return. There will be a few v2s but I don’t believe there was anything too major.

 

Predictably, the wrap up has to end with what’s next and while the next catalog Sentai release was detailed in the Kyoryuger wrap up (Akibaranger Season 2 if you missed it), for the quarterly releases, it’s usually a bit more predictable, which is why it should come as no surprise that we’ll be right back here in a couple of weeks to release the Super Sentai Strongest Battle miniseries!

 

…OK, so you may not have expected that, but as the BD will be out on July 10th, we’ll be giving that a release, so look for that in mid-July!
